Pressure Sensors

MinebeaMitsumi's pressure sensors are mainly used in general industrial fields. They are highly accurate, environmentally resistant and have excellent temperature characteristics. They can be directly in contact with pressure media and components (direct pressure type) and are also suitable for pressure measurement such as tests and inspections that require high responsiveness.

Depending on the different materials that make up the sensing part, strain gauges can be divided into silicon semiconductor strain gauges (SOS type) and metal foil strain gauges (strain gauge type).

*Silicon On Sapphire (SOS) technology refers to the technology of epitaxially growing a silicon thin film on a sapphire (Al2O3 single crystal) substrate.

For silicon semiconductor strain gauges using this silicon thin film, the bond between the resistance wire itself and the sapphire substrate is at the atomic level, forming an ideal sensor with very stable physical and electrical characteristics.
